Frankenstein Cover

Cover Design

Visual Problem: Design a type-focused cover for a work of fiction.

The cover draws from the recurring theme of life and death throughout the book, with a skull looming over the type. The missing jaw calls upon Victor’s mistakes and the imperfection he views the monster to be. The thick, graphic text evokes the weight of the story, a solemn tale set in an unforgiving setting. A muted color palette pushes this further, based on the colors of old bones, like the ones Victor rustled through in order to create his creature.
